Mare Round Up Campouts for 2010
If you would like to join us on one of our mare round ups in preparation for the sale please call 801-361-9743. These will be a campout and a dutch oven cooking adventure with the mare round up for only $50/person/night if you bring your own horse, $150/person/night if you use one of our horses. If you would like to use one of our horses please call as soon as possible to reserve your horse. They are limited. Experienced riders only. You will need to bring your own sleeping arrangements. Tents, trailers, and campers are welcome.
Spring Round Up: Memorial Weekend (May 28th-31st)
We will be gathering mares and separating them to put out with stallions for the summer.
Pre-Sale Round Up: (August 26th-28th)
This round up is in preparation for our sale the following weekend. We will gather mares off their summer pastures and bring them to the ranch headquarters for sale prep and previewing.
Weaning Round Up: (October 29th-30th)
Time to wean the babies. The mares will be turned out after the sale until weaning time. We will gather and sort off the babies.
Sale Schedule
Friday Sept. 3rd
Sale Horses available for preview all day.
4 P.M. Free colt breaking demonstration presented by Rory Childs. The colt used will be sold as lot #2 on Saturday.
Proceeds will be donated to the Richard Childs Memorial Fund
7 P.M. Dinner and Entertainment: Free Live Bluegrass by CrosStrung, winners of the 2009 National Family Talent Search Competition. www.crosstrung.com. Dinner will be available for purchase.
Saturday Sept. 4th
10 A.M. Riding Horse Preview
12 Noon Sale Starts
Camping is welcome at the ranch. There is plenty of room for tents, trailers, and campers.
Hotel Accommodations have also been made with the Western Inn in Spanish Fork for a discounted room rate. Just call 801-798-9400 or 888-700-5335 and tell them you are coming to the Smokey Mountain Ranch Sale. They are located just off I-15 and Highway 6.

Ask about our show incentive. We are offering a $5,000 added bonus to the highest placing horse in the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Division Finals that is purchased from Smokey Mountain Ranch. This offering is applicable to the 2009 Futurity for the three year olds, the 2010 Futurity for the two year olds, and the 2011 Futurity for the yearlings.
